  • Vanessa Hernandez, Executive Director/Founder

    Vanessa is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist currently working in emergency mental health services. With over 10+ years in the mental healh field, her experience includes treating severe autism, co-occurring disorders, children and adults, and trauma related cases. Vanessa’s past experience as a struggling college student fostered the development of SFF with the intention to support disadvantaged students looking to pursue higher education.

  • Edith Sanchez Cruz, Chair of the Board

    Edith comes from an extensive background in the nonprofit world, previously at Big Brothers Big Sisters, as a Community Outreach Senior Manager and now as a Community Inclusion Director at the San Diego Sheriffs Department. Her energy and passion towards servicing communities in need is unwavering. We are very fortunate for her expertise and skills here at SFF!

  • Andrea Garcia "Drea"

    Andrea Garcia "Drea", Member at Large

    Andrea Garcia aka Drea, is our Member at Large. Drea has been working in the nonprofit sector since 2013, in a variety of settings that include Refugee Resettlement, serving individuals without a home, Domestic Violence survivors, and currently with Unaccompanied Children for the last 7 years. Her role as a Senior Program Officer for Home Study & Post Release Services with Unaccompanied Children has allowed her to continue supporting vulnerable populations in need. Drea is an amazing fit for our organization with her exceptional knowledge of underserved communities.

  • Jessica Molina, Member at Large

    Jessica Molina is our Member at Large. Member at Large volunteers play a vital role in our organization by participating at any capacity either full time or part time. Jessica works in social services by providing in-home support for new parents. She has been mentor for the past 14 years with Village of Promise, supporting children and youth who have been separated from their families for a variety of reasons. We are thankful for her dedication to our foundation.
